Tell me a story

Molly wanted me to read her story the other day, and as usual, I was busy doing one of those mundane mom tasks. The baby was asleep, or so I thought, in his bouncy chair. Molly stopped pestering me for a story and after a few minutes, I could hear her talking in the familyroom. I walked in there and found this cute setting.. She was "reading" to her little brother. Isn't it crazy that this little four year old is better at taking the time to be a "mom" than her own mom? It was a good reminder: the laundry, the dishes, the bills, etc will always be there, but moments like these won't.

The Sheriff

So I was doing laundry the other day when Molly found this little Sheriff's vest among the clothes. It was Porter's Halloween costume last year...no idea how it got out, but Molly decided it was meant for Lincoln... I was in the other room, of course, and I heard some commotion and found my little man (still in his pj's) adorned with a badge! He's the cutest law enforcement officer I've seen lately. (And suprisingly, I've seen a few.)

Halloween photos

Aren't my little witches darling? Little guy (he wasn't Lincoln yet) was a sweet pea in the pod. He didn't get to trick or treat, but I don't think he missed it! He got to have a rest at "Aunt Gretchen's" house so he wouldn't be around all the bugs. But his grandparents got to see his cute costume.. My big boys went horse riding with their dad rather than go to the Halloween trunk or treat at the church. They got to have the "Halloween" experience the week previous at the Goring Halloween party.. Who knew that they would choose horse riding over candy!

Our Family's pictures

We had our family's pictures taken I got to preview a few of them.. They turned out really well. I love all of them except (of course) the close up of myself. You'll have to check them out www.timandkimphotography.blogspot.com . When I receive the disc, I'll post some of the other individual pictures.. Tim & Kim were so good to work with my "helpful" and energetic kids. They do a great job! Anyway, I'm glad to have the pictures done. They are so stressful to get ready for, but worth it when you look back.

Here are some cute pictures of the big day.

These are the hairdo's from our family for "Crazy Hair Day" during "Red Ribbon Week". Porter wanted the "grandpa look" and his dad did the job. Pretty crazy...

These are my kids last week at the Goring Halloween Trunk or Treat. Cute, eh?

My Football boys... Brance helped coach Hayden's team and Dallin loved playing his first year. They both did really well even if they didn't make the playoffs.

We loved going to Lake Powell to spend time with our cousins! The picture with all the babies are all the cousins born in the last year. What fun, eh? My sister that is married my husband's brother had a little boy in May, so that is the picture with the two babies.

So these are some pictures of our family at Suz's wedding. Fun huh? It was a fun thing to get dressed up. Rare too to have everyone "clean" and "smiling" at one time...

So this is our announcement of our cute new little man. Yes, I am 3 months late, but considering this is my first real post, I feel like I'm doing pretty good :) Life in our neck of the woods is good. I can't believe it is snowing today! Wow. The kids just got home from school, so I guess this will have to be short.
Our kids: Hayden (11) Dallin (10) Lucy (almost 8), Porter (6), Molly (4) and "little guy" (3 months) keep life interesting. They are great kids, hard workers, and thoughtful siblings. They "think" of the most interesting things to keep each other busy. All in all, they are our life. Brance is now self-employed and we are the proud owners (with the help of the FSA) of 1500 sheep, 170 cows, 4 horses, 2 donkeys, 2 dogs, and other critters that I would like to get rid of. We live in the same place we have always lived. It is a great life. Someone called it "romantic" the other day. I don't know that I would call it that....but it is unique in this day and age. The kids help their dad with the animals and our nearest neighbor is 1/2 mile away. They play in the river in the summer when their chores are done. Sounds like a Hucklberry Finn type life, eh? At some point, I'll try to get pictures on here showing you the fun they have enjoyed this summer, but I need to help with homework right now. I am working as much as I can at the hospital in OB. It is a great job and I love the people I work with. It's just hard to keep everything in check at home and work....too much. At least I'm never bored. I hope all is well for all of you. I'll try to update this on Sunday, when our little one gets his name. Until then, have fun!!
